Changes to LAN Lordz
7/22/2010
After a recent meeting with our hosts, we're making a few adjustments to how we run things at our LANs. First of all, we will be discontinuing the raffle prizes and tournament prizes for a few months. Our hosts have been extremely busy lately, and we feel like the prizes have been getting a little bit old. We will still have some door prizes from our sponsors, but that will be it for a little while.
Secondly, we've had a lot of trouble keeping the console room clean and disaster free. Because of this, we have voted to close the console room until further notice. Console players are still welcome to the LANs, but things will be a little different. You can use the regular PC rooms and either bring your own TV or ask a host to borrow a WTI TV. And you absolutely must bring headphones or mute the TV as we do not allow sound in the PC rooms.
Thirdly, a few of our upcoming LAN dates have been changed. Our August LAN will be on the third Saturday due to Quakecon. That makes it August 21st instead of August 14th. And the October LAN will also be on the third Saturday, so that we can make it an Extra Life LAN and raise money for children with cancer. This changes the October date from the 9th to the 16th. So, plan on coming to LAN Lordz on 8/21/10 and 10/16/10.
Fourth, we will be ordering some more LAN Lordz T-shirts, soon. If you would like one, please let us know. Post your shirt size and desired quantity in this thread. The prices are as follows:
Small to XL - $15.00
XXL to 5X - $18.00.
Fifth, we are still looking for one or two more new hosts. Please approach one of us at the LAN or check out the new host thread if you are interested.
And finally, we now have our official LAN Lordz FAQ and LAN Lordz House Rules posted for your edification.

LL68 Wrap-Up
10/11/2009
We had yet another awesome LAN this weekend. We broke our record attendance Saturday with 116 LANers at the LAN! Awesome job everyone! It's amazing that our numbers have grown so much in just a few short years!
We had some really great tournaments going on throughout the evening also...
Console Tournament:
One of our regular LANers, SN3AK, decided he wanted to host a Halo 3 console tourny, and we had a good turnout for the event. He will be hosting yet another console tourny at next month's LAN for Modern Warfare 2. Make sure you bring your controllers and your smack talk if you even want to think about winning!
Eviction Tournament:
We played Pocket Tanks for our single player tournament this month. Everyone had an amazing time trying to be the last tank standing, and the winner is now the proud owner of a Game Skullz tactical helmet. Congratulations go out to Zigian on placing first!
Team Tournament:
This month for our team tourney, we played Team Fortress 2. Talk about an amazing underdog story! Legion of Death and The Lost Vikings battled it out in the first round, and Legion of Death won, continuing to completely dominate the winners bracket. Then, The Lost Vikings went on to play in the losers bracket and made a fabulous comeback, coming out of nowhere to re-battle Legion of Death in the final round and taking first place right out of Legion of Death's grip! It was an incredible comeback and they are all now proud owners of some keyboard quivers provided by DustOff.
We would like to thank 3tek for hosting the dedicated servers for the event!
As for the regular LAN goodies, we still played all the normal games, and one of our hosts, Penut, provided hot dogs for everyone who got there early enough. We had a killer raffle again this month with some amazing prizes, and we're really looking forward to next month's LAN!
Thanks goes out to all of our new sponsors, as well as our regular sponsors! Penut has been doing a really incredible job keeping in contact with our sponsors, and actively seeking new ones! Without our sponsors and continued support from our LANers, we couldn't be as big as we are today! Thank you all so much and we'll see you at LL69 in November!

NaKidMOleRaT
Playboy927
15 LL regulars at QuakeCon? Talk about awesomesauce! We had an amazing time. Wish you could have been there!
The vendor area was packed with people from start to finish. There was Bethesda, id, Intel, AMD, AlienWare, Steel Series, Kingston, PC Magazine, Bawls, NVidia, CoolerMaster, DustOff, and many more. Free swag giveaways anyone? Yes, please! Chicks who kick everyone's butt in guitar hero? Over-clocking? Awesome new demos? Raffles? Tournies? QuakeCon '09 had it all!
This year was also a first for the volunteers. QuakeCon always has their yearly shirts they toss out at random. However, this year they took it one step further and made up QuakeCon '09 Volunteer shirts! How awesome was that? You could only get one if you volunteered sometime throughout the event. Thanks QuakeCon for giving back to the people who work so hard to bring this event together each year.
What games were played, you ask? Oh, a little bit of everything! We played COD4, CS, L4D, WC:III tower defense, Pocket Tanks, TF:2, QuakeLive... whatever we wanted! We also checked out some amazing demos for Wet, Wolfenstein, and Global Agenda.
Don't miss QuakeCon 2010! I know I'm looking forward to next year!

LL66 - August 22nd
8/3/2009
Just to give everyone a heads-up, please note that the August LAN will NOT be the second Saturday in August. WTI is hosting gaming conference at their facility that evening, which is why there is a conflict with LAN Lordz. We will be moving the LAN to August 22nd, which is the fourth weekend, so we don't interfere with people who would like to go to QuakeCon also.
Make sure you check us out at the August LAN. We will be having more prizes for our raffle. What are the prizes, you ask? Well, come to the LAN to find out!! We've included a few prizes this month to pay tribute to our console gamers, as well as RPG fans. We guarantee you'll have a "blast!" These prizes are sure to keep your "energy" level up!
Don't forget the raffles are solely for you, our gamers. Whatever our gamers put into the raffle is what they get back. The more you give, the more LAN Lordz can give back!
LAN Lordz would like to thank our host, Penut, for taking the sponsors bull by the horn. He is currently working on getting new sponsors for bigger, better LANs and even more prizes! Make sure to let us know if you have any ideas for sponsors you would like to see at LAN Lordz and we will be happy to send out a line to try to snag them!
Check out LAN Lordz at QuakeCon! Several of our hosts will be making the journey down to Dallas to represent LAN Lordz at QuakeCon this year, as well as several of our regular members. A few guys from TigerLAN in Hayes are making the trip down to Dallas as well. This is a QuakeCon you won't want to miss! We'll make sure to take lots of pictures for those of you who can't make it!
Thanks again to everyone who continues to make LAN Lordz such a HUGE success and we'll see you at the August LAN!

LAN Lordz 61
3/17/2009
WOW! Talk about a HUGE event! We had over 100 people again at LL61... 112 in fact, if I'm not mistaken! That's twice now in a row! Let's keep this going guys!
This LAN was just a little bit different, but it was oh so tasty! Your LL hosts decided it was time for a sweet treat and since it was Pi Day (03.14), what better way to celebrate than to have PIE! We had several different varieties of pie for our LANers to enjoy, and I don't think anyone left hungry! LAN Lordz would like to give special thanks to W.T.I. for providing the space yet again for some delicious treats. We would also like to thank Spears and Village Inn for donating some pies to the cause. Our LANers came hungry and left happy! Thankfully we had no pie fights, although it was suggested as a possible side tourny. I think we'll save something like that for OUTDOOR purposes.
We also did AMAZING on our raffle again this month. Keep in mind, all proceeds from our raffles go directly back to our gamers. The more we make, the better the prizes will be for you! We raffled off 6 sets of 2GB RAM kits, 1 640GB harddrive, and as our GRAND PRIZE, we gave away a Fatal1ty gaming headset, and an OCZ keyboard and mouse to outfit the winner's computer! Talk about a turnout. If things keep up this way, ticket prices will stay low so you can donate more. Again, the more you give, the more we give back! Let's make this a new LL tradition and keep it going strong just like everything else about LAN Lordz!
Also, just an announcement for April's upcoming LAN, please don't forget that we have our tournament month coming up! Tournaments will be announced on the forums, so don't forget to practice your fragging! Next month we will have even more prizes for you to win, not only in the tournaments but also in our raffle again as well!
Keep your mouse hand strong and we'll see you next month for some more excellent LANing!
