Might as well see if you can filter torrent files. I'm not sure how you would do this, but this would help ALOT!

YOU WILL NEVER STOP ME WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
The network I manage has over 1000 people on it daily, with no site restrictions. We only have 100mb to go both ways, and we never have any problems(well... not the kind you are having). Are you on a T1 or something?

Are they all trying to get Microsoft updates, game updates, chat on facebook, and watch youtube all at once? Not to mention the computers that are zombies and their owners don't even know... We have an 8Mb pipe to work with and we consistently fill it at the LAN. WTI is also trying to protect their nettwork with a SonicWall and that will slow traffic some. Bottom line people, the LAN is for gaming, Youtube, Flickr, Facebook, and other social media need to be done at home. We understand that sometimes updates for games and Microsoft updates are inaccessible for people who have slow or no internet at home, but please stay off of the social media. Also NO TORRENTING, shut off the client software, repeat offenders could be kicked from the LAN, and no one want's that.

If there are any questions about the rules of the LAN feel free to talk to a host at the LAN and we will answer anything we can.

As Lo_wang pointed,

This is a LAN. The core focus should be Local Area Network Gaming, not external traffic gaming. There are expections to this for certain games, League of Legends and Tribes Ascend as example. But the LAN we provide and the network infrastructure from WTi is for a LAN environment. We've had people abuse the bandwith internet access to the point that LAN servers of Call of Duty, for example, crawl to a painful halt.
Do I look like I care? ... Oh I guess I do, what's the problem?

How about pulling the internet all together? Also need to have a set of regular games being played and a list of the games in EVERY room (like on the dry erase boards). Or at least not allow online only bases games. I know that I'm guilt as sin of that one every now and then.

We need games with dedicated servers running them the entire time. Preferably a stable server that is performing no other function other than hosting the game.

On a final note, how about another Pocket Tanks for fun tournament. Or even a classic doom round robin death-match.

Keep fighting the good fight, eventually you'll win. You and bing.com, quibids.com, barnesandnoble.com, and all the other "almost as good as the real thing" guys. QUAKECON 2012!!!!

you can't pull the internet cause steam won't work even if it's lan based.
A major thing that's stemming from this Internet Access and Bandwith issue is games that are trending at the moment.

LANable titles are hardly popping up or servers are not maxed out either by lack of advertisement, lack of interest, or lack of client. What's popular at the moment is Online titles like League of Legends and Tribes Ascend, with people jumping onto MMO's as well.
