Having started my gaming lifestyle as a hobby in the late 1980's, I have seen several classics come and go. I have been around for everything from Kings Quest to Quake. I have seen Doom transition from a 5mb sprite driven single player shooter to a fully online multiplayer phenomenon. One thing that has withstood the test of time is my pure desire for gaming. It is my drug. Much like a fine wine, too much can kill you, but a little bit at a time can improve your overall quality of life - and thus far, my life has been great.
